Globalization: Examples in Engineering
Chemical Engineering
The Celanese plant contains state of the art technology
and produces 600,000 t/y of Acetic acid to meet demand in China (Curwin, 2011). The
demand in China is expected to grow at a rate of 10% per year. Celanese
is a global hybrid company. Although not required by Chinese law,
Celanese promises to implement the "same high standards for environment,
health and safety" as it would in any other location in the world.
