Lesson 2: Team Processes

Team Rules

Team rules are a critical part of setting up a virtual team. They should consider each team member's cultural values and virtual capacities. Team members should be willing to explain their culture to allow other team members to adjust and better interact with one another. The team rules should focus on how team members can build relations and understanding. They should help the teamwork more effectively. Flexibility and adaptability should be built in. They provide the guidelines on who does what, when they do it, and how they will communicate to others. The team rules serve to regulate interactions and team procedures. Team rules should assist and augment the natural flow of information and help team members build strong relationships.
